questions on extended factory warranty
1. I am upgrading from a C-320 coupe that had an extended factory warranty, and the finance person at the dealership I bought it from told me I could not cancel the C-class warranty without losing money (as much as 50%) even though the warranty has never taken effect (the car is still under original warranty). I was told the only way to get back all my money is to wait until the whole 100,000 miles or 7 years have expired without making a claim. This sounds like a bad deal, and it makes me not want to get the extended warranty on my new car in case I decide to sell it 3 years from now (I am not sure about how long I will keep it yet).
2. Are these starmark warranties ever discounted? The finance guy where I bought my E550 (different from the dealer in question #1 above) will only sell at full price. Which dealers will discount these?
3. I am selling my c-coupe. Is it worthwhile to offer it to the next owner even at a loss? I am afraid I will be asked to "throw it in" as part of the bargaining, but I don't really want to discount it since I could potentially get all the money back in 4 more years.
4. Anybody else out there with a 550?

Basically, I am having trouble with cancelling my MB factory extended warranty on my C-Class coupe; the finance person at the dealership will not tell me how much my refund will be until after I have cancelled it (the warranty has never gone into effect). However, if I will lose too much money, I would just as soon sell it to the 3rd party buying the vehicle.
Also, $4K is a lot of money for my new e-class sedan warranty; it is probably worth it, but I wondered if anyone knew a dealer who might give me a price break.
Thanks!
