Who sells more cars Benz or BMW ?

BMW: 86,597 (-7.7%) ... YTD 683,724 (+8.2%)
Mercedes-Benz: 92,700 (+5.1%) ... YTD 658,000 (+11.9%)

Go to each corporate site and look for 'sales figures' or 'sales reports'.
It also makes motorcycles and the Mini.
It's a pretty small company, basically privately owned.
Merc has A, B, C, E, and S, the ML, GL, G, and R, and a large array of coupes and convertibles I can no longer keep straight.
Then there is Maybach and the McLaren SLR.
AMG is a bigger deal than the Motorsport (M) division.
Plus it has oodles of vans, medium and very large trucks, busses, etc.
At one time or another it's also owned AEG electronics and Gaggenau appliances.
It owns Detroit Diesel, and, I think VM. Freightliner.
It's a VERY LARGE corporation and of course owns Chrysler, including Jeep.
Hardly any comparison.

Not to mention the Unimog and Smart was well. Here's a good look of whats available just in the US, and there's more models coming out as well and trim levels.

Many taxicabs in western Europe are Mercedes Diesel sedans; especially in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Netherlands, etc.
Mercedes sells many buses, both under the Mercedes label and the Setra label. They also sell lots of trucks. They have a huge market share in Europe, Asia, and Latin America. As previously mentioned, they sell Freightliner in the US and Canada.
BMW builds fine automobiles, but the company is dwarfed by Mercedes.
Speaking of buses I was behind one the other day and it had that largest MB star I've ever seen! I mean it looked to be about the size of a sewer hole cover. The bus wasn't a small item either, really tall and super wide...appearing to barely to be able to squeeze itself down Chicago's Michigan ave.
