Removing Hood Star

Okay......I was lowering my garage and the garage snapped the hood star and only the ball and a little bit of the pedestal is left. I got the grille plug but I don't know how to remove what's left. Can anyone help?

in order to get out the remains of the star, you need adjustable pliers normally used for plumbing. You grip the parts you can see from the inside of the grille, and pull (hard) downwards and then turn it about 90 degrees or so, and the part can be pushed through the hole.
Good luck.

hood star

To get the whole hood star/emblem assembly off, turn the two underside prongs counterclockwise 1/4 turn (typical left to loosen)and then lift out from the top. Normal finger pressure will do it, and pliers will help if its hot from running the car.

Wow…30-seconds old emblem gone, new badge installed. Thanks!
