Extended Warranty for AMG's

Extended Warranty for AMG's
Anyone have any advice re extended warranties in CA. I have a 2000 E55 with 73,000 miles. The extended warranty I purchased expires at 75K. I have found another extended warranty co (Western General) which will extend for 2 years/24,000 miles. MB dealer is quoting me $4,840 for the platnium plan which covers everything with $100 deductible per claim. Its the only co I have found which will cover AMG's. Any recommendations? I know its expensive, but under the 3 year 36K extended warranty that is expiring soon, I have had approx $10K in claims.

It sure sounds like you got your money out of your other warranty! I'm biased because I bought a M-B extended on my CPO. Although it is expensive, I think the factory-backed ones are probably the best idea.
I would also consider trading your 2000 for something a little newer. Generally speaking(or so I was told by my dealer's used car manager) the re-sale value starts dropping pretty quickly after 80,000 miles.
