I love posers.
2 weeks ago I parked right behind C280 AMG. I tried to take a good pic, but the owner was in the car.

Also a while ago, I saw a red convertible CLK with a CLK430 badge, but it had the stock CLK320 wheels and body kit

Badge engineering....nothing new lol. Can't tell you how many W107 cars badged "560 SL" didn't have a 3rd brake light, but had updated 15-hole wheels.
300Es turned into 400Es
S320s turned into S600s
400SEs turned into S500s
C280s turned into C36s
SL320 and SL500s turned into SL600s
IMO, it's actually easier in today's climate to discern an AMG badged poser than years earlier when your couldn't tell just from the outside. In most cases with the current cars, the brakes, exhaust, stance and body kits are easy giveaways.
That being said, I kinda miss that C24 /////AMG that used to roam this area.

02 CLK 430 Cab
I have a shop out here in LA, and I see a lot of these. For example, 95 S500 coupe badged CL600 AMG with the V12 on the fenders. 89 380SL badged 600SL with the V12 as well. 03 CL500 badged CL55 AMG with the V8 Kompressor on the fenders. A 99 E-Class that said AMG on the left side of the truck, and E55 on the right side of the trunk. and my favorite, bone stock 03 E320 badged E55 AMG with the V8 Kompressor on the fenders. Like someone cant tell that its a stock 320. I have also seen some really weird ones like a 2000 S430 that said S2000. Maybe he thought he was driving a Honda? I gotta start takin pics of these clowns.

just bought sl 55 amg
ya i hate people who drive around with a regular mercedes and putt 55 amg on the back and leave out the quad mufflers and the v8 kompressor on the side i mean if ur gona be a poser atleast make it look a lil real there all obvious they look like idiots there wanabees who cant afford amg!!!!!!

when i had my e55
i bought the "e320" badge (of ebay for like $10)
and even the stock 16" chrome rims
to turn it into a "sleeper"
but then i realized i had to remove
calipers, exhaust, engine cover, steering wheel ....
i felt like i TOO was being a poser and gave up

I saw a real bad one recently probably the worst I've seen in a while. I notice this **** immediately, call me crazy: I was walking my dog in west new york and I notice at the light at 60th and blvd E a 03+ W220 S??0 no AMG package, crooked V8 kompressor badges on the fenders, AMG badge on the trunk along with S55 and of course the slap on quad tips! What I can't understand is why you can't enjoy it the way it is? Why does it have to be something else, ya know what I mean? ****, you drive an S class Mercedes the flagship sedan of arguably one of the finest automakers in the world, and you go ahead and slap all that crap on there. Why? Just makes me wonder, but I guess if it makes you happy who am I to judge.
