Aren't E55 supposed to get better than 91? When I lived in Europe Octane went up to 98 as I remember. Does 91 (assuming you get real 91 - there is some fudging on that) not trigger knock control and reduce power some?

A quick search on the net. This may start answering your question.
CA allows 91 oct. to be called premium. Only 91 oct at best is piped to CA.
The attached link says some 76 locations carry 100 octane - may want to check that out (probably $$).

CARB may have answers. It is likely a reformulated gasoline issue . . .

Yes, what is wrong with Houston??

CLK 320 Cab
I have only seen a hand full of places in GA that carry 100 Oct. I think that it was around $3 to $5 range.

Unhappy Check our gas prices here! Wow, you guys ....

have it a lot better than us, anytime! BTW, prices are in CDN$/Liter (CDN$ to US$ conversion is approx. US$0.62 per CDN$1 X 3.89 = US$/Gal.)

Thumbs down Forgot to say that ......

the prices reflect cost of regular unleaded fuel/liter! Add about 11 to 12 cents CDN more for premium 92RON.

European 98 = US 93 (more or less). The reason is that in the US they use (RON+MON)/2 for octane index, and the difference between RON and MON is roughly 10. In Europe they use RON.
