yes, thanks, I've thoroughly read and tried the various suggested remedies.

I've run it in various browsers and versions of java. I've even run EPC on an XP virtual machine using older java and IE versions.

The error has to do with a missing Manifest file that Java itself is punting on, saying it is no longer valid.

I've written EPC and hope they may have some input on this.

Last night after uninstall Internet explorer 11 (to default IE8) and uninstall latest Java update and use an older version already on the system (1.6.0_35) and after Win7 (auto)update IE8 to IE10 everything started to work (no errors on running EPC).

Give it a try if you have time

Thanks for that. I may build another VM and see if I can find a configuration that is compatible.

EPC responded and informed me that their Software is not compatible with Java beyond 7.45. I loaded up an XP SP3 VM with Explorer 8 and Java 7.45, and everything works fine.

I assume one could also run a win 7 machine with similar results, but I already had an XP build, as my Audi VCDS programs requires XP to run.

This is very odd, the plate on the door jamb matches too.

May be it's a missed info in EPC. Make a full picture of this plate and send it directly in Daimler AG - sometimes they make answer from archives only with faxed copies of paper documents for oldtimers, because electronic DB's have no this info.
