Ever since Mercedes bought AMG and it became a subsidiary, Hans Werner Aufrect has no longer really been associated with AMG. He has a new company, HWA, which has been contracted by Mercedes to tune and race Mercedes CLKs in the DTM championship (although these cars are badged as AMGs of course

).

Erhard Melcher isn't associated with AMG anymore, either. He founded another MB-tuner company called MKB (the M here also stands for Mercher); apparently a lot of the managment and engineers that were made redundant at AMG after the MB takeover have gone to MKB.

Plus, the company is no longer in Grossapach, it's now in Affalterbach - and is run by a guy named Ulrich Bruhnke.
