Sad site at the MB dealer today in Dallas.
So I bring my CLK 320 in to have the CD changer fixed and the car version coded to XENON present. They tell me they want $230 to do this.... I tell him. So I just tell them to fix the changer for now. I'm kinda upset and walking around the dealership when I see a set o keys w/ a note attached to them. I feel bad cause I was nosy and read the note. It said he is a man w/ a single income and he lost his job. He said he can no longer afford it and was to embarrassed to bring it in and sign the papers face to face. It was a long and sad note. I turned the keys over to the sales manager. It's obvious that my luck is not as bad as others.

Thats terrible, I would have felt bad too after reading that. I took out a loan on my C63..hope i never lose my job. I only make 120k/yr but i live in a smaller house so it's not bad. $900/mo is a lot though. I'll make credit card balance transfers before i get rid of this thing though..i love it
On another note, that dealer sounds like the scumbags over here in Savannah. They tried to charge me $450 to fix a few simple things on my old SL55 that had a week of warranty left.

That's awesome, reminds me of my friend who bought a car on his credit card about 5 or 6 years ago. He would do those balance transfers every 18mo. or so when the 0% would expire. He said that entire 'loan' only cost him about $300 in transfer fees.

BS ALERT!!! their is no way you could do that for 300 bucks!! something as expensive as a car loan, over 3-4 years would be much more expensive in balance transfer fees. do some research, they aren't going to just keep letting you move that kind of money around to 0% cards for a measly 300 dollars.

I did about ~10k for a student loan(rent, food, tuition,etc.)..and it actually only took me 5 cards..and all of them had NO transfer fees. So it was a 0% loan for a little under 3 years. You def. have to look around for these special credit card offers..bankrate.com is a great site..but it is doable. Only thing that was stopping me was the credit limits but I called the credit card company each time I got a new card and I always got it lifted a bit. However doing this is risky..If you slip up it could cost you a 18% interest with those ridiculous APRs.

Yeah, poor guy, he did a voluntary surrender. His embarrassment is the least of his concerns though. Finance Co. will sell his car at auction, send him a bill for the difference, plus auction and transportation fees. He'll also receive a repo mark and charge off on his credit. ;(

Quite a few people make around 100k a year, maybe if you didn't work at Burger King you would know that.
