need some help, got questions on a MB engine
i'm interested in the new Chrysler Crossfire thats coming out this summer. but i'm also wondering if it will have any aftermarket support for it. (turbo kits, superchargers, etc). the reason i came to this board was it has a Mercedes Benz engine in it. i don't know the speceific model number but i know the specs. here's a link for the specs and pictures:

can anyone tell me anything? also, what do you think about the car?

The Crossfire has the 112 series 3.2 liter V6. I'd imagine most aftermarket enhancements would work on the Crossfire too, as long as they have sufficient room in the engine compartment.

I like the car, even though it looks a bit odd from the rear, I have to give Chrysler credit for continuing the bold approach they have to styling. I'd be a bit weary of buying one and taking it to the dealer for service though, because Chrysler technicians will have to learn a completely new vehicle with this car, since it has so many Mercedes components, particularly from the SLK. I think if I had a problem with a Crossfire, I'd sooner ask a Mercedes dealer to take a look at it than a Chrysler dealer.

i'm confused, i thought it was from the E320, not the SLK. when you said the 112 series i looked it up and thats what i found. also by looking at some pictures the engines do look mostly alike. i'd definately want more power than 215hp. so do you know where i can find some perormance parts for the engine? whichever car it's from.
edit: just looked at a SLK engine, and it does look like the crossfire engine. so, now, aftermarket?

so i guess it wasn't a good idea to try and look up the specific models....rrrr......since your the only on paying this post attention, do you know if it's possible to get some good hp from this engine?
