1977 240D w/ 85K miles
Ran across a 1 owner 1977 240D with 85K original miles, powder blue. Seems to run real smooth and started right up. Belong to the father of the lady selling it and he has just passed away. She is asking $2350.00 USD for it. Interior seems to be in good shape and paint is fine, no dings or dents, some of the blacking on the exterior is fading but overall seems to be in decent shape. Can anyone tell me if this is a fair price or not???

picture would tell a thousand words. They are rather cheap these days. For this money it should be in a better than average condition. Search for the best one you can find. They are cheap and repairs are not.
Look on ebay to see some examples and prices. THere are a few there right now.

I owned a '75 240D from a northern location -- salt state. For Tampa, I'd check out the following:
Underside - look for rust throughs or large blisters
Front Fenders - rust throughghs above head lamp area
Trunk - yes - rustthroughs in wheel wells
I was always very impressed with the car's performance and feel.
At 85 K, you've got a steal on your hands. Send me a pic and I might buy it!
In a word -- If it feels good, buy it!
