Why does some powerful cars come without LSD?

Hi guys, I have this question that I cant find a logical answer for myself.
Why so many powerful Mercedes cars come without LSD from the factory?Specifically cars like 500E, s600 w140 and cl65 w215 etc. I dont have a personal experience, but from what I've read around the internet these cars come without a stock lsd.

Thanks in advance!

I'm not real knowledgeable on the subject but will throw in my two cents. My SL55 puts 540 torque to the wheels. When I nail it, I can produce impressive two tire burnouts. I believe the reason why is because the ESD even when turned off still stabs the brakes at the slipping wheel which imitates an LSD. On more controlled launches, the ESD manages rear wheel traction quite well. The SL55 did come with a performance package option that had an LSD. Few cars ever came from the factory that way however.
