Electric turbocharging? E-turbos?

The public is already hopelessly confused on the difference between a supercharger and a turbocharger. It's probably too late to straighten them out. But we all know that a turbocharger has to have a turbine! So an electric turbocharger makes no sense.

Steffen Jastrow, Mercedes AMG’s head of compact car development, makes it even worse, with his yammering about "e-turbos". Sounds like something you download! What's wrong with "electro-charger"?
