Distronic Plus Wants To Commit Suicide! Is This Normal?
Not that it makes a difference, but the car is a 2016 S63 Coupe.
The circumstances:
Distronic + set to 65MPH, following a vehicle @ 50MPH - 100 yds ahead there are vehicles stopped in all lanes. The vehicle you're following moves out of your lane, revealing the stationary vehicles now 70 yds ahead.
Here's what it's doing:
Distronic + doesn't see the stationary vehicles ahead and speeds up to the set point, then, at the point where you're scared $hi|7less, the warning beep sounds and you have to hit the brakes to stop in time.
Is this normal, or is something seriously wrong ?

This is how mine behaved ... I don't use it anymore
Apparently it's working as intended... It'll follow the car in front and feed off the set distance but will not re register objects approaching when a vehicle moves out of your path and reveals stationary cars
Many others have experience exactly what you are describing

Wow. That really sucks. I was hoping there was something wrong that could be fixed.
How does Tesla have a system that practically lets drivers read a book in the back seat with no concerns, but Mercedes will let you die?!
