Changing oil in high humidity weather (70%+)
So it's time to change my cars oil, but it has been very humid the past few days and it isn't letting up. Currently 74% humidity...it's hit 90.
I have the oil and filter, it's ready to be changed...anyone know if this would be a bad idea given the ridiculous humidity levels? Could the moisture in the air get into the motor, or shorten the life of the new oil?

Moisture gets into everything, gasolene and oil, what you see dripping out of an exhaust is water, and some of that water bypasses into the motor, motor oil starts to cook out moisture and bypass gas when the motor is above about 170f fairly quickly, that's why real short trips in winter can ruin oil fast, the vehicle never gets time to fully warm up. Don't worry it will all cook out, a real worry is in winter running a bad thermostat or other issues that don't allow the motor to warm up fast. That's when your oil can develop into sludge.
