Easy Entry/Exit failure
Posting this in the General forum as I would suspect it can happen across most of the product line.
For the second time in 5 months the steering wheel up and down function on our '14 ML350 CPO has quit. I can manually move the wheel in and out. But when I try to move it up and down I can hear a motor running and a clicking sound but no movement. I don't know how long it has been out of commission this time as it is the wife's car.
The first time it was fixed I understood that a coupler failed.
Has anyone experienced this, possibly more than once? Is there something else going? Thanks in advance.

2013 E63 AMG
Ive experienced this multiple times in my 2014 E63 AMG. It usually fixes itself. What i do to is just try the up down for movement repeatedly at for abt 30 seconds and it starts working. Hope that helps

Bingo! Pushed the stick up. Nothing. Down. Nothing. Up. Nothing. Down...I heard a very slight pop and down it went. Easy entry/exit now working. We'll see how long it lasts. Thanks for your help!!

The mechanism jams in the top position when using easy exit mode.
You can turn it off and move the wheel manually, or have the dealer ensure the car has the latest software in the drivers seat module (controls the memory seat and wheel functions) which won't jam it up so aggressively, or on some models there is a bigger/stronger motor for it to help it unstick itself.
A firm hit from your hand on the top of the wheel to help it release when it sticks will also solve it, if you'd rather not waste time at the dealership.
