Chevron, Exxon, Shell, etc. all have 93-Octane "premium" gasonline, but are there any brands that stand out above the others as better for your engine? Thanks!

Sunoco

In the New York area, Sunoco, is, I believe, the only company with 94 octane. I use it whenever I can. If not then Shell, Exxon, or Mobil.

here in cali caliente all we have is 91 octane....so i really don't have a choice but i usually try to stick with shell if i can but if not i'm not going to lose sleep over it.....gas is gas to me.....don't matter what brand they are....still comes down to la on the same pipe and then they split and add stuff like techron and call it their own......

just my 2 cents....

What's so great about Techron?

David, I find your post very encouraging in that I just pumped a full tank of Chevron Supreme w/ Techron into my car. Out of curiosity, though, what's so great about it that there is neither doubt nor question about its supremacy (no pun intended)?

Thanks!

This may come as a surprise to some, but while everyone tends to prefer one gas over the other (including me), in most cases they are the same. My friend's dad is the CEO of a multi-billion dollar oil company, and he said that they are always trading oil/gas with eachother (as sometimes it is more profitable to resell than refine).

Gas is gas, I just buy whatevers cheap and easy. Unless it's some Mom and Pop, middle-of-nowhere station with more sludge in the underground tanks than actual fuel.
