Free oil changes....who cares!
hey guys,
i've seen on the boards lately a lot *****ing about MB
possibly dropping the frequency of their dealer service
program. for me i just don't think this is a big deal. if you
buy a car you should be able to change the oil yourself
or have someone else do it for you.
i always changed the oil in between the intervals myself
anyways. what do you guys think?

Although I don't change the oil myself, I don't find the dropping of the "free maintenance" to be a big deal (certainly not a deal breaker). When it comes right down to it, the value of this service is about $1,400 over 4 years, assuming one service per year. I'm sure that you can find some non-dealer service stations that can perform the same services for much less. It was a nice perk, but it certainly won't keep me from buying another.

it's just like 90% of any other car maker out there, pay for your oil changes. It was a perk, most likely not to stay forever, bound to get cut out soon. Things change and people just have to deal. Won't turn me away from buying a MB in the future.
