Extended Warranty Sale Value and Prorate questions
Hi All,
I recently inherited a C250 Sport 2014 w/ 36K and a 2 year Extended Warranty that kicks in on May 3 (soon!) I can cancel before then for full refund of EW from Mercedes, or after at prorated amount.
We are selling this (although fab car in great condition) AND I'm curious of 2 things:
A) Would a buyer find value in and pay for the full value of the MB extended warranty with low miles? It was my 80yo moms and always garaged.
B) IF I do keep the warranty and sell the car in June or July AND buyer does not want it transferred, does anyone know how much will be prorated back to me? Dealer said they would NOT know until it was cancelled, but would be about:
Thanks! Great forum...and great cars.
Above is the contract clause for the refund and prorate.

- Warranty Cost - ((Warranty Cost / 24 months) x Months Used)
- and not sure if tax would get returned.

A. no way to tell for sure, it depends on the buyer. ELW coverage may be attractive to some buyers.
B. what was the original purchase price of the ELW policy? You can divide that amount by 24 to get an estimated monthly pro rata.
