Chipped rim installing new tires!

Time for new tires on the wife's pristine 2011 C300 that we purchased when new so we took it in to a local chain that sells tires and they matched Tire Rack's price for the tires and estimated mount and balance. We did a walk around to ensure they knew there was no damage anywhere on the car including the rims. Go to pick it up a couple hours later, walk around and the left rear rim has been chipped/scraped and one of the areas on the wheel around a lug nut on the right rear rim is deeply scratched. He said "well, this kind of thing is expected when you take off and put on tires". Serious! I've had them rotated and balanced at the dealer every 5k miles or so without a problem although they weren't putting on new tires. Upset to say the least. He said he would have to contact "corporate" to see if they would be willing to have it repaired and would give me a call on Monday as it is a long weekend with it being July 4th weekend. Okay, we'll see. I tried to have my local Benz dealer match the price on the tires but they couldn't match it or even come close. Oh well. Wait and see. I wish I had purchased from Tire Rack and had them shipped to my dealership or my house and taken them to the dealership. Lesson learned. Rant over - for now.

UPDATE / FIXED!

Took the wheel/tire in yesterday and picked it up today. They did step up and fix it and the company they went with for the fix did an outstanding job. The wheel looks like new. However I learned a lesson and next time won't be doing business with them again.
