First class lease protection
Good morning all.
Anyone else experience an issue trying to cancel their plan? My vehicle was deemed a lemon. MBUSA buying back my car. I was informed I needed to contact the dealership (finance department) to request a pro rated refund for the unused portion of my lease protection plan.
Amazingly, the finance rep (coincidentally the same rep who sold us the protection) stated it’s money lost. They do not offer refunds full or pro-rated.
This sounds incorrect to me. In reading the back of the contract, a vehicle deemed a total loss receives a pro-rata refund. Also, if a lease ends because of default, repo, or other termination (I’d guess buyback falls into other termination), the dealer would subtract the pro rata refund from what they are owed.
Sounds extremely shady to me. Any examples or advice is much appreciated.
