Brand New Car Malfunction/Service Part Delay.
Hi All,
I recently purchased a brand new 2021 E450 Coupe that was a custom order.
Within less than a month the left headlight stopped working and I got error saying check left low beam, I took it to the dealer they said they need to replace the headlight control unit but the part is estimated to arrive end of the month.
They gave me a loaner but I am very pissed as it’s a brand new car and I did not even use it for a month.
Couple of questions:
1. Can I trust the dealer to keep my car with them for 30 days? Will any of the service people use my car for personal errands?
2. Can I ask them to give back my car while also keep the loaner until the part arrives?
3. Can I escalate to any executives? Would that help?
