2006 SLK350
MB needs to make SLC again

Well, I've been driving my 2006 SLK350 for about 13 years now, and have been considering buying a new replacement. But I was waiting on the SLC to get a major Interior Refresh. Instead, MB stopped making the SLC in 2020. Now even the SL is a ragtop with four seats, which I prefer neither. Now I'm having to consider ragtops as a possible option, which grates me a lot. IMO, I think that most SLK/SLC/SL owners prefer two seats and a hardtop, so MB is not making this transition an easy one. I'm having to consider the BMW Z4 M40i which has the beautiful interior, but is a ragtop with more of a blindspot based on how the roof comes to the B pillar. I don't like that at all. Now I'm thinking that I'll just keep driving my 2006 until it dies on the road, as I like it better than anything I see on the market (for less than 90,000 USD). I just wish MB would bring back the SLC with a beautiful upgraded interior and a HARDTOP.

If you want a Z4 now is the time to buy one, BMW will be discontinuing the Z4 after the current generation, and the car is not likely to receive a facelift.

Sadly the segment of smaller convertibles is pretty much dying.

Yes sadly. There is also the TT but even that is going away soon and becomes T_T

Ah yes, I always forget about the TT, especially the cabrio variant which usually loses the good looks of its coupe sibling. While they do look great in coupe form, I can't wrap my head around paying $50k for what is a 2-seater based on the Golf platform or $75k in the case of the TTRS!
