Any Mercedes-Benz Club of America members here?
#3
I have been for around a year now.
One benefit is the Star magazine. Pretty good.
Other than that, I dunno. I have not really been tempted to go and hang out with other club members at various local events. They have a local club newsletter, and often have pics from the events. I think the youngest person I've seen in any of the pics is around 75 years old. Plus, they all wear blue blazers with some kind of crest on it and white shoes- I don't have those.

SoCal's right - the Star might be worth the price of admission all by itself.
I haven't been to a local event, but I've seen pictures - looks like a Republican fundraiser (without the pic of 9/11, of course). I'd like to go to one at some point in the rattiest shirts that I have; kind of like the tennis scene with Tom Hanks in "Bachelor Party".
It's not much money, plus you get the secret password and handshake!

Also they have raffle for SL500, ML320, E320, C230k in July, each car will issue 3,300 tickets and price from $30-$50 each ticket. It's for members only.

The Golden Gate is really nice this time of year Lynn. I'm sure Trench could work it out for you. Nice views of the Bay and the Pacific. Only downside is it might be a terrorist target, but who cares?

I agree that the Golden Gate is a beautiful bridge. Of course I would protect my investment with insurance, so I am not worried by terrorists. However, I have to pass on purchasing the Golden Gate because I find Sausalito to be rather annoying.

The Bay Bridge is pretty nice too...how about that one? We are not short on bridges here, but it sure feels like it due to traffic.

Too show how old I am, the first time I went across the Bay Bridge, cars were on the upper deck and trucks and trains were on the lower. I was a kid then. The car traffic was heavy, so we were put on the truck deck. My dad was driving. We went across that bridge sandwiched between two semis with about a 5 foot gap front and rear. Dad is a really good driver and usually unflappable, but that made him very nervous.

No I would not buy the Bay bridge, but I would buy the Golden Gate. It's the most beautiful bridge in American IMHO. Driving over it is such a pleasure.
