The Mod Bug

Hi,

Well just got some of the "major" mods done on my car and was curious how people ranked which mod gave them the most satisfaction. Here's my list using the mods I've done already:

# 1) COMAND (not only fun with navigation, VAST improvement in audio quality especially FM stations (no longer sound like switching between stereo and mono continuosly)
# 2) Voice recognition phone system: like the safety issue of it
#3) Bixenons: completely changes the exterior look of the car to a more "aggressive" appearance. Light quality also less strain on eyes in night
#4) Clear bra: barely noticeable, prevents annoying rock chips on front end.

I just missed you in Tuesday at Erwins. I wish that we could have met up so I could have seen all of your mods. COMAND and CLimatronic are my first real mods other that the '05 apperance package, so COMAND is in 1st and Climatronic is in 2nd. I will be getting the bi-xenon next and then who knows what will be after the lights. I always told myself that I would not mod, but it is addicting and now that the first two are in I don't think I can stop easily!!

I agree the mod bug is easy to catch. I got to see Erwin's power folding side mirrors which were very neat. Didn't get to see the parktronic system that Steve was going to install later on Erwin's car either. It was funny b/c during my install Steve got a call from Sunman who apparently asked him if there were any new gadgets he could get to put on his car. I also liked Erwin's star grill he put on his car and I was tempted to do the same but I think I'll miss the star emblem I see when I drive my car. Well maybe another of Steve's trips we could see what else we added on.

I think the next mod I want is the illuminated door sills. I'm a bit hesistant b/c I probably will have to do a self-install and reading a lot of other people's experiences doesn't seem to boost my confidence.

That mod is on my list too and I am thinking of doing it pretty soon. I have talked to Harris and will get mine from him and from what I have heard he sends pretty detailed instructions. Just take your time and all should work out OK.

Let us know how it turns out.

Do you have a 320 coupe or sedan?

Have a C320 sedan (pewter with charcoal interior). I was thinking of getting the Harton sills as well. They're a bit more $$$ but apparently much better than the stick on sills.
