Arrow Soaking Wet Roadtrip To The Nurburgring 2024

Here is my Video here:

Tuesday before last both myself & my mate Edd embarked on our now annual trip to the Petrol-heads promised land. The Nurburgring Nordschleife.

We set off at 6:30 aiming to get to the Chunnel for 7:45 train, luckly the UK stretch of the trip went really well and we arrived on time.

30mins or so later, we left the train and onto the Autoroute. For anyone not familiar, the most direct route across from the UK to Germany is 90% Motorway so apart from the distance 300+ miles its a fairly easy route through France, Belgium, Netherlands and onto Germany.

The was decent enough with no issues to report and fairly decent (however overcast weather), as soon as I reached the De-restricted section of the Autobahn I thought I would stretch my cars legs by trying to go flat out. I managed 145mph before bottling it, it was approaching rushhour and the road was starting to get busy with traffic. That said, Germanys roads and their lane disipline is second-to-none. The derestricted sections are completely clear visiblity for around at least a mile ahead and not even a hint of pot-holes etc. total opposite of the UK!

The only photo my mate managed to get was of me doing 125Mph here:

As soon as we approced the Effiel region of Germany the weather instantly changed and it remained like this the entire trip. borderline flooding the whole trip.

We stayed in the larger town of Adeneu which is the northern side of Nurburg, the apartment we rented was about half a mile from Exit-Breidscheid.

The Ring going over the village:

The next morning we decided to hike from Adenaeu to Nurburg and the Ring boluvard and back. This took 5 hours and we got completely soaked. However it was a fantastic way to expenience the dense forests and view all of the corners up close. Its incredable the steepness of some of the corners, somthing you dont notice when driving the laps!

The 'Swedish Cross':

That evening when Toursitenfarten (TF) opened - these are the Public sessions for 30 euros a lap I managed 2 on the first day. The weather was shocking and borderline dangerous. The track was nearly empty as noone really wants to risk it. This however ended up being a double edged sword, yes its dicey, but I also had a fantastic time - some of the most fun ive had going slowly, you can take the perfect lines and little to no worry of faster cars coming up behind you with alarming closing speeds!. During the first lap I was overtaken by YouTuber "Seen Through Glass" who was being coached by Misha.

On my 2nd lap I myself managed to get conifdent (but not cocky!) and managed a faster lap, I was able to overtake a Porsche GT3 on UK plates aswell as a Jag F-Type S - so this left me leaving the track feeling like a driving god.

The next day we had a chilled one and went around the Ring Works musium which had an amazing number of classic Mercedes and then in the afternoon we went to Brunchen & Pflantz Garden viewing points to watch the 'Distination Nuburgring' track day which was 95% fellow Brits. In the evening it started heavy raining once again - just in time for my next 2 laps aswell as Ed's 2 laps in his hired Megan RS from RingToys garage. his car was on Semi Slicks so was an eye opener!

2 Ltr glass of Bitburger:

All 4 laps were dodgy as hell with huge sudden downpours as well as clouds/fog! but we made it around no issues. - Check out the video!

Overall an amazing trip once again, thoroughly recommend it to anyone.
