Question Mbrace connect renewal cost?

My mbrace service is going to expire soon and I would like to renew for the basic connect service (lock, start etc). I don't want to renew for any of the secure/entertain packages. But I have not been able to find the price for the basic package. Anyone here renewed theirs? What is the price? And where do I renew?

Dig into the app. I have the original mbrace and the “connect” menu selection gives renewal options with pricing. When all else fails, call customer service, the number is in the app somewhere.

Thanks. It just says that it will be available with a paid subscription to secure/entertain packages which is a minimum of $199/year. This really sucks and I don't understand why MB doesn't just make these basic features free.

I, too, thought $199/year to be ridiculous for access to that piece-of-crap app. As the expiration of my complimentary service drew near, they started sending messages in the app and email notifications, encouraging me to renew the service. I called and explained that, as the app had been either partially or completely non-functional throughout my entire complimentary period, they would have to extend the complimentary service for at least six months before I would even consider paying them for it. They declined, so I declined to renew and deleted the app. Good riddance to bad rubbish.

Agree, it's rubbish at $199 per year and since I have 2 cars that would be $398 worth of rubbish per year. Each car is not driven up to 5 months out of the year so getting 12 months of benefits is not possible.

My vehicle is nearing 5 years of service and my mbrace expires in about 3 months. The current promo offer for the Secure package is $149 per year (the regular price is $199) and I gather from other threads this is a recurring offer.

I love the app but mostly for the remote lock/unlock feature as I don't always carry my keys (it's my wife's primary vehicle) but often need to retrieve items. However $149 annually seems a bit rich for the app. Thankfully I have never needed the other secure features - I do not live in a remote area and rarely drive through one so I expect my vehicle would be quickly located if there was an accident.

Anybody have success in negotiating a lower price? I expect I will receive all kinds of promo offers once it expires. Also wondering if there is a cheaper package (I was told that was not the case.)

they offered me the same $149 and like others I can’t justify paying that based on the Lack of reliability of the app.

Mercedes me connect services cost

I am having a hard time understanding why I need to pay for the app to lock and unlock the car and tell me where it is. Do these features cost Mercedes something on a continuing basis? I feel like they don't cost the company anything to continue to provide and there is no good reason I should have to pay anything. I already bought the car!!! Not happy.

yes there is a cost because those services all use embedded modems with a cell carrier. It’s peanuts but there is some expense. I could see $60/year but considering for the 5 years free it only worked 25% of the time, MB should extend the no cost until they can demonstrate its reliability.

I was just looking at the cost myself as my wife’s GLC63 is close to 5 years, and she only used the APP to turn on the air during how days when she was leaving work. I asked her did she want to review she said know as rarely use it. Agree it’s a money grab, but we got 5 years …….my Range Rover expired in 4 years and I didn’t renew. If you want to track your car just place an Apple tag in the glove box …..the rest of the stuff is not that useful.
