Difference between Launch OBD scanners

Hi not sure if this is the correct area to ask this question but I'm looking to purchase an obd scan tool for my Mercedes. I'v read some posts in the forums and it seems the Launch Creader Elite V2.0 for Mercedes is a good unit for diy/home garage work. I went to purchase it today and noticed they have another unit called the Launch X431 Creader Elite 2.0 BBA OBD2 Car Scanner for BMW/Mercedes-Benz/VW/Audi/Maybach/Mini/RollsRoyce. Has anyone had experience with the second multi euro brand unit? Wondering if it's the same unit and functions as the Mercedes only unit. Thankful for any info

One is specifically used on MB the other one is multiple makes. The first one also has variant coding capabilities. Keep in mind, the MB specific one you could also purchase an annual subscription to service other makes as well.

The MB specific one comes with loaded MB diagnostic software I think it includes it for a lifetime.

Other than that, you can probably get the same software on the second one but you need to pay an annual subscription.

ask Launch
I find their amazon listings confusing at best as why so many different version of a device that does the same thing?

So for those that were wondering about the difference between the 2 units I ordered the the BBA unit and compared it to my neighbors Creader Elite. The BBA unit has everything the the Benz only unit has but also includes most of the other European auto brands aside from Audi and Porsche but can be downloaded. We were even able to perform some coding on my W166. For $50 more it seems worth it to be able to work on some other brands in the garage. I'll attach some side by side pics.

To make it confusing there is yet another version called BBA and has some nice buttons: https://mbworld.org/forums/e-class-w...ml#post9076216
