Quote: It’s honestly surprising to see a post like this about a club that’s been around for over 10 years, and has never had a single negative comment or rating from a member. Because of that, I reached out to BenzNinja to understand what happened, and he shared the full history of your conversations since you joined. (He also said any club member can request this, just by asking.)

Mr. Scallawalla, after reviewing those messages, there’s no place where he insulted you. That claim simply isn’t backed up by the conversations. From what I can see, he also spent close to 20 hours updating and configuring modules on your car, work that no dealer would do without charging thousands of dollars.

It’s also worth mentioning that this was done to help fix a camera issue; the problem later turned out to be a broken gas flap mechanism, where the flap motor was no longer attached. In the end, the main concern seems to be that the gas flap works now, and that you don’t want to go back to your local dealer because they’re no longer willing to work with you.

Taken together, this tells the full story.

Have a good evening. A very happy club member!
This is factually incorrect. I cannot post PMs here. But they show the chain of events are as I listed in my original post.

It started out as a camera cover issue (rear camera cover would not close).
BenzNinja flashed the rear SAM
New problem - The gas flap would not unlock
BenzNinja removed the flash update and put it back to orginal
Gas flap now unlocks but two new problems - The trunk would not unlock, the glove box would not unlock
Error message says "unkown control unit variant"

The voltage during the flash went as low as 11.5V, which is out of spec for a flash. The flash was corrupted and the rear SAM lost its code variant due to lack of power during the flash.

The comment about the dealer is out of left field. It's false. It was never discussed. BenzNinja made that up.

The dealer agrees it is a corrupted flash and said they should be able to fix it while I wait. Why did it take BenzNinja 10 hours and still not fix it?

He probably had to take a **** or something.

Quote: Clue the rest of us in -- why do you need a 20 amp power supply connected to your car to flash a SAM?
Recommended by BenzNinja. But apparently, that is still not enough current as the system voltage dropped to 11.5V during flashing.

Quote: "just do it and do not question"...maybe, just maybe this is his stand point (SoupNazi???).
I get it. The Soup **** is a great reference. That is exactly how I saw it for years. I just accepted that for years. If you're a genius and fix my problems, I may tolerate the arrogance. But leave my car in worse condition that you found it, refuse to take responsibility, and then on top of it all, ask for permission to get into my laptop under the pretense to look up a date with the ulterior motive to wipe it out? Wouldn't you call that crossing the line?

Quote: That is where you are wrong... So ,many think we are supposed to be nice at all times - wrong.
This is rich. His website says "To keep our Club filled with joy, we only accept new members who are nice and respectful."

You may edit your post little bit as your arguments is in favor of Mr. @Scallawalla

1 - Dealer will never spend 20 hours to fix/update anything, because they are not "genius" or "very smart", they are professionals. Any trained technician can follow the diagnosis steps and solve the camera flap in minutes.
Of course, if you only want Amex data you invent wrong software's and long stories.

2 - Ninja stole my 20 years website ( https://mbretrofit.com/ ) with the intention to slander me being covered by the fact that he is Nigerian living in Nigeria where the French lost the colony to the Russians, so Sir you already read a lot of negative comments. Not to mention all "his" software copyrighted by Daimler. It's against the nature for an adult to praise that.

3 - " later turned out to be a broken gas flap mechanism, where the flap motor was no longer attached. In the end, the main concern seems to be that the gas flap works now..." this could be English but only if you refuse any logic behind thinking.

Think about this way. Do you beleive that there is even one company in the world that has never had a complaint? That's illogical and practically impossible. In this case, there is a simple explanation why you don't hear complaints. He does not tolerate dissent (at least not with me). When I said to him that I wasn't happy about how things are going, he replied, "complain again and I'll send you to the dealer." Hence, my choices were: 1) shut up or suck up to get my coding, or 2) speak up and get cut off. I chose 2. Hence, I'm out. It is a pretty good deal financially, so I understand why so many people choose to shut up or suck up.

The soup **** reference is perfect. "No coding for you!"

Bullied? Please just stop your whining already anybody interested has already read your little rant everybody has already placed their opinion and not at this point if you were in the same room as I am in I would probably want to bully as well because you sound quite pathetic.

LISTEN here LITTLE WHIPPER SNAPPER!!!!! When I was a kid we had 12" black and white turn dial television with three channels......AND WE LIKED IT!!!!! We never needed anything better.

Somehow this AM I got a "Price is Right" suggested video on YouTube, it had "in Color" as a theme......No matter what, there are worse places to be than in an MB dealership (my office, for instance). Anymore, as it is so over used (and patheitc) anyone who claims to be bullied - in general they need to
.

You might want to consider this option:

Can I block posts, emails and messages from specific users?

If there are particular members that bother you and you do not want to see their posts or receive Private Messages and Emails from them, then you can add these members to your 'Ignore List'. There are several ways to do this:

Through your User Control Panel: User CP, Settings & Options, Edit Ignore List. Then, type their name into the empty text box and click 'Okay'.

Regarding the "I felt bullied" statement. I could have taken a much more agrressive posture. I could have made acusations about intent and character. But I am here to share my experience, not judge. I believe approaching it with such a persective adds credibility.
Feb 6, 2026 | 07:49 PM
  #48
No one cares. No one has shared a similar experience. That reduces your credibility. Sorry if you've been hurt and no one believes you. Time to move on and accept that life is often unfair.

more than once in my life I have gone into an MB dealer just to use the bathroom, get a drink and some snacks and continue on with a road trip. Sure beats going to a 7/11 and they tend to be visible from highway exits.

You don't know that. I am sure some are surprised, some agree, and others find it informative.
Quote: That reduces your credibility.
How does offering perspecive rather than guessing at intent reduce credibilty?
Quote: Time to move on and accept that life is often unfair.
Probably.
