Ahhhh crap, still nothing. He just wanted me to put deposit down. Still the "mid 50's to start, low/mid 60's loaded" thing.
He DID tell me they are now putting the 4.7L motor in them standard now which should bring hp up to around 342 with a bit more torque. It's the same motor that will be in the new basic S class.
Sweet.

Actually the s is launching with the 5.5 liter only. there is no base S for now.
When will the GL begin delivery? The S is going to be early to late feb. It is also gonna cost $90K (out the door), whereas the GL will be ~$65K. I would opt for the GL if it will be out in a reasonable time. My wife doesn't want a sedan. She wants an SUV, but I'm sure she could handle a new S550.

that sounds like sweet pricing. it's around the Toyota Land Cruiser level (US$55k ++) - a very, very popular SUV in my hometown in Malaysia.... this should provide some very healthy competition =) the Toyota has an entrenched base and a reputation for unbreakability on its side, of course.
