Free Sirius for 1 yr?

Thats rights. I didn't know this until I called Sirius and they told me that 1 year free subscription is included in the GL. Dealer didn't mention this to me. I had mine activated and its cool. Although sound is far from CD quality

I got a year with my CLS, and the dealer told me it is a year with the GL. We'll see.

Are people still getting a period of free service from Sirius? I have not yet activated my service.

07 GL450,
6 months here, I find that the built-in sirius receiver is a little light on performance, presets and info compared to my $40 sirius replay stand alone unit. That said, once you have satelite radio there is no going back to FM.

When Sirius was originally introduced, it was a year. But then after they signed Stern, and I mean right after, Benz dropped it to six months.

It wouldn't surprise me at all if they changed it back depending on the model involved. Especially since Chrysler is giving a year with new cars w/Sirius....

Just got off the phone with SIRIUS and they setup my account
as "Prepaid Semi-Annual Service" (i.e. 6 months no charge).

They apparently can tell your eligible for the free service for the
6 months via each specific ESN serial number on the SAT tuner
installed from the factory.

After listening to the vast programming have decided to sell all stock owned
in any terrestrial radio channels

The dealer installed kits always included 12 months of free service. It's the transition to the factory installed Sirius option that initiated the reduction to 6 months of free service. This running change is the reason that some dealers are understandably confused.
