Must take key from ignition?

I've had GL for about a month and think its all great except that if I don't take the fob out of the ignition then the electronics stay on. When I park my car in my garage I prefer to just leave it in. Is there a setting that I'm missing that would let me leave the fob in?

Thanks

Same with the DVD in the PE. The kids can leave it on after the FOB is removed,
hope someone has an answer.

This is "standard" in all MBs. Remember also that you can turn on the radio and other Command functions with the key out of the car just by pressing the Command power switch. If that is done the Command will operate as if a key is inserted and will turn off after a set period of time. I find the key issue no problem.

another solution

After switching off your engine just remove the key and insert it back without turning it. This should switch off electronics like the radio and you still have your key in the ignition. It won't activate the electronics unless you put it in and turn the key.
