For those who requested one of these bumper plates to be prepped by me ready to stick on, I am ready to take some orders. I called my local dealer and they have confirmed that they have 4 available at the warehouse. It should only take a week for the dealer to get them in plus a few days of my work to complete and send out.
If you are interested please let me know via PM. I will accept PayPal only with shipments to registered addresses.
I will only place the order with MB when I have received 4 confirmed (paid) orders.
$265 Shipped (shipping charges could differ depending on your location)

Knauz just outside of chicago quoted me ~185.00 for the plate... not including prep or install or materials. 260.00 is very fair.
Are the require 2 bottles of beer included?

Sorry, wasnt suggesting that he was doing it to make money. Just thought I would post the lowest price that I have seen on it for those, like myself, that enjoy doing things themselves.

dcrna and BeanCounter - looks like I may have caused some confusion by the way I worded my reply. Looks like we are all on the same wavelength here.
I am most certainly going to help other enthusiasts based on L8Apex's example
Looks like GL owners can get along

Depends where I'm going.
I need to stop hanging out here, you guys are a bad influence on me! I ordered the bumper plate today, it should look great with the chrome roof racks and lower polished steel skid plate. Thanks for the info dcrna, the total was $186 shipped from Mercedes of Eugene. Maybe I should have ordered the ML63 pedal kit too?

I placed the order yesterday guys! The parts will be here this week. I should have them sent out by Monday or Tuesday next week. I will include my cell # so if you have any questions on the install call me. It will be packaged as a kit, which includes:
1. The plate prepped and ready to stick on with 3M tape (I just found out that this stuff can hold 5 pounds per sq inch...wow)
2. Alcohol Pads for stripping the wax off of the bumper
3. Printed Instructions (same as the one I posted on page 1)
4. Alignment markers for placement
This should make the install very easy.
Just an FYI, I have one available for anyone who wants it. First one who sends me a PM gets it. If you're local you can save $ on shipping and pick it up. I'm in S.CA (OC).
Cheers!
Glad I can help!
WOW that is a great price! Plus no CA tax. I know where I am ordering from in the future. Thanks dcrna! Wonder if they are open to group buys?

I did the contrary thing. I got the plate and I do not feel secure with 3M sticky tape. I took it back to the dealer and they put it on the "proper" way. Apparently this is the way these things go on an ML. the remove the rear bumper and cut holes on the top surface to slot the tabs into it. Cost $200CDN but bought me peace of mind.

I assume the pedals for the ML are the same as the GL and therefore can be installed without any problems?

A few thoughts on this topic. After seeing the clips that are underneath the bumper plate I am not sure I would be in any great rush to take my bumper off and cut holes/slots in it. The clips are plastic and were surprisingly easily removed/broken. In their defense there are alot of them so it really should not move around and even if one of the clips breaks it would not be a big deal. The bigger issue to me is that I am not really sure I want someone taking off my bumper and drilling holes/slots for the sake of putting this plate on especially for those who have Parktronic with the sensors in the bumper. As for the 3M tape, the stuff that L8Apex recommended is used for putting body side moldings on cars. It is tuff/sticky stuff. After putting this plate on and testing the strength of the tape I highly doubt it is going anywhere. Even if it does, get some more tape and put it back on. Just my opinion.........

NevadaJack,
I would be more than happy to help you out with the install. I actually went out and bought a Dremmel to cut off the clips. It makes a nice smooth cut and it cut down/minimized any sanding. Let me know.............
