I will look under the hood to see if I can see the hose tonight (provided she makes it back) and once the compartment's cool in the morning see if I can at least shove it on hard enough to get it to the mechanic. This is my second Merc. My first was a 1986 560SEL (used) that lived well past 100,000 until someone offered me more than it was worth. I always loved that car, but now to shell out nearly $70G for there to be a loose bloody hose, makes me worry about leaving Lexus products behind! I'm going to keep myself up to date on these forums for a while!
Tough break and a bummer for you and your wife with a new car. The hose was replaced with a new one somewhere in the production line but there is one case of a unit having a problem with the new hose but it had to be re-clamped. Once fixed it seems the truck is without a problem. Hope you can get it repaired quickly. Is your dealer Schumacher?

No, I caught them lying to me about BluTec and the GL, and they didn't have the GL320 CDI with the right color interior, so I went to Phoenix Motor Company. Still waiting for a call-back from them. I drove it 1/4 mile up the street and down, and it's not "Limp Mode." Feels very much like the turbo's out, either dead turbo or bad hose and I'm opting for the hose. Plus, the "Check Engine" light's on now. Maybe now that they don't have to concentrate on Chrysler any more ("Ya can't polish a turd!" -Will Darnell, 'Christine') they can start focusing on QC again.

See "Vance, Part II" and carpersn's "CDI HOSE ISSUE" for further updates on what's supposedly the only CDI with the problem in Phoenix.
