Advise for lease in NYC area
I will be leasing a GL450 in the week or so for the wife and kids, and have been getting inconsistent quotes from various dealers here in NY. Others on this board seem to have faired much better. All of the quotes are between $2-3k off MSRP. Is this ok for the northeast? Should I be asking for more? (yes, I know I should but is it feasable)
One dealer is saying he cannot do better as this is "invoice." Does someone know what the actual invoice is for the 450? Thanks to the guy who posted the invoice receipt of his GL320. Nice ride!
The bad part is the dealer with the smallest discount is closest to my home, and he states that they have very few more 07s coming in even though he is the largest in the area. He also states that MB production is front loaded, so the longer I wait the few cars there will be to choose from at the end of the year. Is this so, or does MB (like every other manufacture) provide end of year deals?
So for the many questions on my first post. Thanks in advance for your help.
Mike

Thanks boxboss. This is what I had believed to be true; works this way for every other company out there, why not MB?!?
As far as calculating invoice, I had read your 0.93 factor in another post somewhere. If this is definative, then the dealer is not "telling the truth." I guess this is the problem of shopping for a car in a wealthy neighborhood; too many people with disposable incomes.
What other incentives do dealers receive from MB for sales?

MB does have a holdback for it's dealers. I've heard 3% but 5% also rings a bell. There is one, I'm just not sure how much.
