I believe this has since been addressed with that new cable allowing both-but i won't know for sure until i have it installed this PM-it was definitely on the window sticker, and they claim to have the part for it.

As of this evening, I also have the RSES and Ipod kit...the only limitation (if you consider it that) is that to hear the RSES through the car sound system (as opposed to the video screen jacks), you must unplug the iPod. There is still only the one AUX soft-button on COMAND so that it defaults to the plugged-in Ipod until you unplug it.

Not as far as I am aware...the one they used is in the GL accessories book...it's called the "automatic audio sensing switch"...
I never did have a regular AUX jack in the glove box, so i think you cannot have AUX and RSES both, only RSES and iPod.
