2002 BMW 330i, and GL 450
Hello All,
Just received these from Custom-Fit Auto Accessories. I had them make the MB logo a bit larger (6") than the standard 3" and they fit great. The original front driver mat didn't cover the left foot rest and the 2 piece in the second row that came w/ the GL didn't cover the center hump. The kids usually get out 1 side when I drop them off at school in the morning so it was getting pretty dirty not being covered. The third row fits very well also

Those are very nice looking mats, blync. I bet that color would hide dirt very well while providing a nice contrast to the Mac interior. Post the link so we can get more details. I like the logo and these are about 30 bucks cheaper than Autosports catalog.

2008 Barolo Red GL450, P1, 19" pkg, ipod, ill. door sills, running boards, trailer hitch, keyless go
That is the site I bought them from. They were very customer friendly and even sent some color samples and examples of both the berber and std. carpet so I could decide. They even provided an example of the larger logo and made some modifications (solid exterior circle around the 3 pointed star) to make sure I'd be happy.
Their customer service person, Anne, was a wonderful example of what good customer service can and should be.
I intiated the transaction via asking a question from the e-bay auction item listed under "GL450" and ended up paying via my paypal account.

I did ask them that, but said they could not. The back of the mats have the typicall small black spikes, and I think they will stay fairly secure w/o them.

I've had a problem with my mats wandering in other MB cars, particularly on the drivers side where there's more foot action. I can understand the concern. MB sells some mat clips that hook to the carpet and then clip to the mat. I don't know the part number, but they have got to be cheap. My service rep gave me a couple when I complained about the problem.

I ordered custom mats too and they had little nibs on the black. Just like WS said, they wouldn't stay. Ended up getting holes cut in and then put the fasteners myself.

Great input on this thread. I have the Weathertech mats and liners and have been very pleased thus far. The only issue that concerns me as we head into winter is the tunnel area and dead pedal section of the driver's position. None of the solutions cover these and they are destined to be soiled. Anyone have ideas for coverage?

Cargo area mats
All:
I have read these threads with interest as my GL is being built on 10/29 and should be here mid November (or so they say which is on anther thread). I see that many of you have chosen aftermarket cargo area protection. Did you consider the MB item "Reversible Cargo mat" PN B67680067. It seems to do the basic task of covering the are as does the AM items (no edges for drips of course) and seems to be very price competitive @$120 logo and all! So thoughts on this course of action are welcomed.

Canvasback cargo liner pics
Has anyone tried these? Looks like 2 covers for the 2nd row and a split cover for the third, allowing the seats to be folded in any configuration (click "additional images").

Here are the pics of canvasback liner for GLs.. I really like it.. great when dog has to travel or hauling luggage from airport etc. probably will need extra protection if you plan to haul lumbar or other messy stuff.

OEM mats do not provide this much protection. No side protection or back of seat protection. I beleive OEM mats are one piece and either you can have a mat with 3rd seat folded down or you can buy one which is only for the small cargo area with 3rd row seat up.. I wanted something which can protect the entire cargo area with 3rd row seat folded down and it folds up nicely when 3rd row is up.

Photos of Liners GL450
I received my shipment of liners from AutoSportCatalog, yesterday. I'm very pleased with the way they fit into place, especially in the front. These should do a good job keeping melted winter snow off the carpets.
The second row liners are better than the mats I previously had in place, but I would have preferred if the liners would have extended over the "hump" in the middle of the second row. Also ordered the bed liner for the back - it fits nicely in place too. (Sorry - no photos of that.)
Here are a few photos of the drivers liner...

Looks like the fit is very good, except for the extra material hanging down when the third row seats are up. Do you find that this gets in the way at all?

No it really does not.. it just doesn't look as clean as when the 3rd row is down, but if you keep the 3rd row up most of the time then you could adjust and tuck in or fold the extra material or let the extra material cover that metal plate.

My wife actually called Weathertech (MacNeil Automotive) and gave some customer feedback re: the second row, saying she wished it covered the hump. Maybe they'll modify it in the future- we'd definitely get one.
So aside from the second row hump issue and the front liners not extending up high enough, we're satisified with these.
Best,
Voy

Agree .. lets hope that a future version for the second row liners includes an option to extend over the hump - I too would be a buyer of that.

It looks from the photos that you have the black interior. If so, what color mats did you order (black or dark grey)? Also do you have the website or phone number that you ordered the drilled mats from? I have black interior and I want to order the drilled mats. Thanks!

I ordered the front mats from http://www.qualitycarmats.com and their Customer Service supervisor (Terry) was extremely helpful. Place the order over phone with her and make sure to tell her that you only want grommet holes and don't want the metal grommet lip to be put on.
When are you getting your 550?

I also bought and received mats from Quality Mats....I'm not happy with them at all and probably need to call and tell them. The order materials state that the grommet holes would be provided...not! The fit is not very good for the driver and passenger sides (the drivers side footrest is overcut and hangs over the ledge). The passenger side does not follow the lines of the sidewall. The second and third row fit is good.
So, be careful.....
