Off Road Package....tires?
Found the following quote in a review at AutoMall.com : Those serious about venturing far from pavement can opt for a special off-road package that includes special wheels and tires, a two-speed transfer case, locking center and rear differentials, adaptive dampening and with ground clearance height-adjustment options of as much as 12.4 inches, compared to the standard 7.9 inches of clearance.
I will be taking my GL to occassional substantial snow or mud and am concerned that the stock Continental tires will not be agressive enough for that......does anyone know whether the above reference to "special wheels and tires" is true? I can't find anything on that at MB website or in the literature.

My off-road package GL came with the same wheels & tires as all the others I have seen. I'd like to put a nice set of Michelin "Cross Terain SUV" on the GL. I put these on my wife's ML500, and they are great. The factory installed Continental "4x4 Contact" look like pretty much of a joke as off road or winter tread.
