hard wire to lighter?
Has anyone tapped into the lighter or one of the other 12v outlets?
I have done this on my 04 e500 and it was very straight forward, but havn't had much luck getting at the back of the plugs yet.
I would love to tap into the 12v outlet in the center console facing the rear seat.

if you want an ignition switched feed than you should tap into the cigarette lighter in the slide out drawer in the front of the vehicle. open the drawer and pull up on the wooden panel which will pop out. then undo the 2 t-20 screws and remove the drawer. gnd is brown, 12v is black/blue. run the wire along the side of the console to the back. if you want constant 12 volts instead, use the power port on the passenger side hush panel. undo the 3 t-20 screws and pull down the panel. gnd is brown, 12 volts is red.

That's what I did for my V1 hardwire.
