Yeah if its going to be loaded they'll have to charge a stiff premium over the GL450. I kinda like that they're doing that with the top of the line cars like the S600 and CL600. The GL550 should be the way too if they want some Range Rover buyers to take note.

Okay Peej, gettin' anxious here on a Thursday afternoon. Just kidding, but I'm looking forward to the info you have. My dealer still states they don't have any information out here and still are not ready to build my dream SUV. So, as you can imagine, I, along with others on the board are looking forward to receiving your details.

Peej... what's the delay in posting the 550 specs? A week has passed since my last message and still no info yet. I'm sure oknish is as anxious to see your details as I am.

I was in to talk to a salesman yesterday about a GL and I told him I wanted a 2008. He showed me the order screen for the GL550, and he confirmed that there would be a P1 and P2 but there was no detail on what was in each package. There were some options that apparantly weren't not included in either:
Rear entertainment package
Heated steering wheel
and some others I don't remember
Interestingly, distronic was definitely not on the "other" option list. The salesman said he'd be surprised if distronic were included in the P2.
There was no info on pricing.

With Distronic enabled, I can do all my email on the road before I hit the office.
Just kidding, of course.

I am just going by what the poster indicated that there was no single option for the distronic on what he saw. My doubts about being in a P option is the cost of $3100 added to any other options in the package would make it pretty costly.
The new D-Plus is a totally different system which employs front and rear radars of different types and replaces the current Parktronic system. So I don't think they would add it mid-model cycle but wait for a major model change.

It is impossible to outguess MBUSA in the makeup of their vehicles for sale here. EU gets the full option list but MBUSA in their great wisdom (?) decides what is best for the US buyers.

Here is what MB is letting dealers see (as of yesterday). IMO, it's not a complete list of options for sure. But looks like they have colors finalized. Wonder what that Jade Green and Verde Brook looks like ???

Verde Brook is a very dark olive green/brown metallic finish. I have no idea on Jade Green.

Jade Green has been available as an 07 E-class, so you can check out the color on BYO, but IMO it doesn't do it justice...

[QUOTE=oknish;2260114]Here is what MB is letting dealers see (as of yesterday). IMO, it's not a complete list of options for sure.
Thanks for posting the list and hopefully, that short option list bodes well for what will come standard on the beast. I'll check back in with my dealer when we return from vacation in Jackson, WY.
jpeardm... thanks for the Verde Brooke picture. That looks really good imo, more brown than green.
All... didn't see a single 450 on the drive from CO to Jackson, WY. Have seen a couple in town though. We've spent three days in the national parks (Teton and Yellowstone) so far, but not a single 450. There were 3 R's though if you can believe that.

I have several of Verde Brooke my SR sent at the office. I'll try to remember to post them tomorrow. That was my inital choice before I switched to OB. At times, I wish I had non-metallic black. OB appears dusty in the right sunlight.

And, no, I don't have pics. I just went to the mbusa.com and did a BYO and saw the option and when I selected it, I realized that I have seen that color on a few E's around town and have always just loved it.
It is true that metallic colors look a bit dusty in the right sunlight but, IMO, then straight Black shows even the finest layer of dust. It's a really tough call one way or the other and, again IMO, choice is between cleaning effort vs. perfect look.
