Angry GL450 with no 3rd Row!!!

Hello all,
Posted a thread way back that I'd take delivery of the first GL450 in Laos... well, it's here. She looks beautiful: Obsidian Black/ Black Nappa Leather / Running Boards / 20" Porrina Rims / Extended Chrome.

However, the dealer f***ed up bad on my order...
NO THIRD ROW SEATS!!!!
The dealer showed me the brochure which clearly says that the 3rd row seating comes standard. I guess Mercedes felt that the 3rd row should be an option for us in Asia. I'm wondering whose at fault here? MB in Germany sending the brochures to Laos (which clearly states that the 3rd row is standard in the GL), or was the dealer suppose to tell me that the 3rd row was an option in Asia. I need your help people... Does anybody know if the third row can be installed out of the factory?

I can't believe I paid almost 100 grand for a SUV with no 3rd row.

HELP PLEASE!

Personally, I wouldn't take delivery on it if it's not what you ordered. You ordered a GL w/3rd row and if it doesn't have it, don't take delivery on it.

I fully agree! He should have pointed out the difference in the brochure. In the brochures, at least the ones I've seen in the US, it shows 3rd row as standard. It seems he misled you.

Also, I haven't seen anyone mention them being installed after market. They fold electronically, which makes it even tricker!

The thing is that I've waited since Nov. 06... and say I return the car, I'll have to probably wait another 6 months for another GL to arrive. I'm thinking I'm gonna keep the car, but there's no way I'm paying full price. I'll post some pics soon.

It's a GL alright.

A VERY nice looking one at that. I like the roof rails and the wheels. What color is it vsengdara?

Would you mind posting a picture of the back where the third row would normally be?

Unhappy

I ordered mine on June 2006 expecting delivery in December 2006, in Athens Greece. I went throgh the full list of optin to be sure for what I was ordering. The 3rd row is in the option least as electrically driven, so I asked the dealer what the option was? the 3rd row or the electric drive of this 3rd row? He was insisting the was standard and no reason to worry until. The production for Europe started on September 2006. The dealer was very sure that the 3rd row was standard. On August, in a car magazine I read that 3rd row was an option. Back to dealer again and after several calls etc he told me that it was mistaken and it was an option!!! I was lucky as the production was still open and my order was modified accodingly. To my best understanding IT IS AN OPTION WORLWIDE. You may visit the german site of MB where all the standard and optional equipment is listed. Every local dealer may arrange a different "standard" list just adding equipment according to his opinion for his particular market. Any way the 3 rd row is NOT a factory standard for any country.

The third row in the US is standard and cannot be changed...if you buy a GL in the US you have a third row seating setup.

I believe this is an inaccurate statement. My window sticker clearly shows the 3rd row as standard equipment on a US vehicle.
