Ash Interior Glare

Hi, I will be taking delivery of a GL450 with Ash interior shortly and read in a user review to avoid the light colored interiors like Ash due to very bad glare thrown up on the windshield from the dash. Does anyone else have this issue? Or is it so trivial that it is a non-issue?

I have the Ash interior, and, yes there is a reflection of the dash on the windshield. That being said, it is no worse than any other vehicle that I have owned ( corvettes, toyota, jeep, etc.) and it varies with the amount of sunlight, etc. Unless I think about it I don't even notice it. Remember..........the windshield is glass and will reflect what is below it no matter what the color........black to a lesser degree but with the right sun angle you will see that as well. The windshield reflection issue would not be a factor in the interior choice for me......go with the colors you like

Thanks for the replies, it's definitely making me more comfortable about delivery tomorrow. Sometimes reading way too many user reviews is not a good thing after you have made a decision on the car!

BTW, they must be blowing out the MY07 to make room for the MY08 because I have never bought an in-demand vehicle for less than invoice before. I'll have to finish taking delivery to believe it though.

I have got Black interior and the reflection is not bad at all. My wife's Volvo has a much lighter dash (even lighter than MB's Mac) and it reflects a lot but not so bad as to hinder driving.

I put some of that conditioner stuff on the dash on the ML and even though it glares pretty badly in direct sunlight, IMHO, a dusty windshield hinders driving in bright sunny days more than a glaring dash.
