Unexpected Road Trip
I just got back from a trip from southern California up to the San Jose area. Friday afternoon my best friend called me & needed to move out of her house by this weekend. I put about 700 miles on my GL and got 18.5 mpg on the trip (calculated using mileage & gallons of fuel -- I don't trust the trip computer).
I have to say it was a very comfortable ride for a little over 5 hours each way. With the 2nd row of seats down, you can fit a LOT of stuff in the GL. Another thing I noticed was how quiet the ride was, even with the back of the GL stuffed with items. There were plenty of things back there that could have rattled, but I never heard a sound. The nav system worked great as well. Got me to her house & then to my hotel without a hitch.
The GL needs a serious bath as there were a ton of bugs out.

Great to hear that, Jen. BTW, if you need someone to clean your GL, let me know. I know this kid who has been taking care of mine and he does an awesome job. He is a pro and knows what he is doing. Trust me, I won't have him doing mine otherwise.

I've had 1 professional detail done on the GL when I first bought it; other than that, it's been going to a car wash (too much vehicle for me to wash!). If you wouldn't mind sending me the contact info. for the person who takes care of yours, that would be great. I don't know if he'd come out this far (I'm near Palmdale).
