The NetStar summary page for my order has the updated pricing, as of this morning. My dealer e-mailed the file to me. By the way, there was no additional charge for metallic paint on the GL550.

Thanks sraj...looks very inviting based on standard features. Thanks for posting so quickly since there was so much interest on the pricing. Glad to see the high levels (mine) were wrong...:-)

Nevada Jack, I agree. I'm glad I got my order in early. I was fortunate to get a considerable discount as well as an early build date (early Sept). I don't think either of these will be available for long. At this price point, demand will be hot.

Thanks, sraj. Would you mind posting a copy of your Netstar order.

Stumble - it looks like dunderhi won.

This is a great price and much lower than what I thought. Looks like even with all the bells and whistles it will be below 85K so that RR market is now ripe for 550.

Multiply by .93 and that should get you pretty close to the invoice price.

That was one heck of a deal you made. I was only able to get 1% off MSRP.

Awesome job! Maybe I should cancel my deal and re-order from your dealer. I'd lose my $1K deposit and place in line, but I'd save around $4K total.

GL450 (Alabaster White/Black Interior)
I guess you guys were right. I was convinced this thing was going to be well over $80,000 for a base model. It's got me thinking but I am not sure I am ready for the waiting game again. In any regard the GL550 is a pretty darn good deal. I will be interested to see the performance difference in real life.

Not so sure of that. I think a loaded 450 is slightly north of 78K (sticker) and a loaded 550 will push maybe 86K. You do get a bigger engine, new body, body kit and AMG wheels for the difference. IMO, 550 is a great deal. Can't wait till they get Distronic for it.

sraj - thanks for posting the order sheet. I was hoping to see all the standard equipment on 550 but looks like there was too much to list

Sticker it is

I'm paying sticker.. should I stop exagerating..

Tell me what you think my GL 550 with folowing options will equal:
RSE
Illiminated door sills
Tint of front 2 windows (by dealer)
Bluetooth hookup (by dealer)

Do you think maybe 80K for that and another 6-7K for taxes sounds right.. I forget if cars this price have a luxury tax above a certain # such as 30K.. Any idea???

I have been thinking about the "tinting" thing. I am not clear whether the "privacy glass" will be dark like on the current 450/320 with Blue Tint on the two front windows and windshield or Blue Tint all the way around? You may not have to tint the windows at all?

For the options you listed (minus tint, since I have no idea about it), I would add about 3500 (sticker) to the base sticker price. So, yeah 80K is right. And, I don't believe 550 will be slapped with luxury tax.

Ask dealer to give it you for invoice since the car won't spend a day on his lot (figuratively speaking). And, yeah, 550 will be a hot car but I don't think it will be "disappearing" off the lots.

One hot item

80K sounds right and I don't think this car would spend very much time on an MB lot without being picked up.. Too hot an item....

As for tint issue... this remains an open item...

For your options minus Tint, you are looking at a MSRP of about $81,370. There is no luxury tax anymore.

Invoice will be approximately $75,728. Try to get as much of the difference as possible.

All windows aft of the B-pillar are dark tinted (privacy) glass. The front driver, passenger and windshield are Blue-tinted (Sport) glass

Thank you. Is the glass laminated for IR/UV and insulated?
