Build Your Own ...metallic paint now standard?
The 2008's are now on the MBUSA Build Your Own site. When you pick a metallic color it doesn't add the $710 charge. When you go to the summary, it says "metalic paint standard for this model". Unless this is an error, this is a first for M-B, I believe!! Anyone else try it yet?

The site leaves a lot to be desired and raises more questions than it answers regarding the features and the GL550.
Read the existing threads on the 550 and there is a lot of information in them. The posts by GL Fahrer are very informative and accurate.

I have a 2008 GL 320 on order. My dealer sent me my invoice on Tuesday and MSRP is 53,000 and Black Obsidian metallic is $775. On the MBUSA website MSRP is $53,775 and no charge for Black Obsidian metallic. So, it looks looks like MB has increased the base price from $53,000 to $53,775 or if you prefer has charged $775 for any paint of your choice.
