If you can get them to do $199/night, I'll sign up for that!

I've met lots of people from on-line and only met one freak back in the mid 1990's. Besides, I'm bringing my hubby with me who is in law enforcement...I bring my own backup

Maybe he could bring his uniform. Could make for some interesting pictures with all of our trucks pulled over for exceeding the speed limit.

I did talk to them today. The Back to Basics package deal is only running through September 1. The lady I talked to said they did not have any deals yet running through October, but she thought they'd have something. She suggested I check back mid-September.

LOL! I'll ask him about doing that...he's cautious about wearing his uniform off-duty due to contracts in the gang world for killing cops. It's a badge of honor for a gang member to kill a cop.

That is certainly sad commentary about our society these days. We're lucky to have outstanding folks like your husband who are willing to assume great risks each and everyday to protect us all.

Looking forward to meeting you both in Vegas!

Dinner

On the plane on my way back to Denver this morning, the USA Today profiled four outstanding Vegas restaurants that are located in various casinos. I was wondering if folks would be up for dinner together late Friday night after everyone arrives?

One of the restaurants was Rao's, which NJ knows is one of my favorites. But, since the majority of folks may be staying at the Venetian, I'm thinking maybe we should plan on an incredible dinner at B&B Ristorante which is owned by Mario Batali and Joe Bastianich. Entrees run between $19 - $49 and I can only imagine how incredible the Italian food would be.

Maybe this would give the Pilot some leverage for getting you all the $199 nightly hotel rate as we'd need a pretty large table to fit everyone in. Heck, I bet Waiting-4-550 would even drive across country for this meal and put his fears aside of us all being axe murderers.

Looking forward to a LOT of fun!

Sound like a good idea to me...Rao's was great so anything chosen will satisfy my appetite.

I am up for dinner on Friday night. I was thinking of Ruth Chris but Rao's or B & B would be great too. What does the majority think?

Count me in for dinner on Friday. I'll eat anything, so where ever the group wants to go is fine with me.

Thanks Stumble! He's actually a Corrections Officer, so he only deals with the bad guys but at least he knows everybody he comes into contact with is a bad guy.

Ruth's Chris is fine, though I can have that here at home. A celebrity chef experience is probably better (though certainly they won't be there, they've got some darned good restaurants). Anyone watch "Hell's Kitchen?" Maybe we could find our way to the Green Valley Ranch Resort for dinner there?

Maybe Sat night dinner at Green Valley Ranch, then?

STP - any word from Ventian on the 200/night rate?

Green Valley Ranch is a very nice place. It is located off the LV Beltway which is convenient via Flamingo or Tropicana to I-15 going south to I-215 (Beltway.) It is probably listed as a POI on the NAV, if not you can plug in the address. Maybe 20 minutes from the strip (depending on traffic of which there is much of.)

Add it to the list of possibilities...

We have a "manager," who will call me (hopefully within a few days, maybe not until next week though) regarding rates and availability. They mentioned something about needing to book ten rooms, and we don't have that right now. I do plan on mentioning that people are looking at nearby hotels offering a $200/night rate, and that if we were to come in the future there's 51,000+ members (well, based on the membership list) who could know about it.

They wanted to know where our corporate HQ was. I tried to explain and hopefully they understand, we're a blinkin' web forum! Anyway, that's the status as of now. Updates as they arrive.

You should have given them Jen's dad's address and said that his Garage is our corp HQ. If you ever see that garage, with 30 antique cars, you will believe me.

You should also mention that we have branches all over US with the closest one being in NV itself and is located in Nevada Jack's garage

TGIF. What a week......

Heh, I like that one! But ... isn't it in Alabama?

Anyway, I got the obligatory email saying basically it's $400/night for one bed (king), $430 a night for two(queen), so he got the email back about how there's so many members and people are getting $199/night at other strip hotels (maybe yes, maybe no!) but we'd prefer to be at the Venetian. Yadda yadda. So I'll let you guys know how much turnip juice I get out of this guy.

Hey, if we can do it then great. If not, there's other hotels in Vegas, dude!
