I have all 10 fingers and toes crossed, NJ and Stumble. And, yes, I do have a big towel handy for wiping the drool also.
NJ - does Westminster have internet access? Else I will send you my aircard so you can post pics as soon as you see the car
And, yes, 550's are hot right now. Went by today to see one since I was by the dealer and they had zip on the lot. Netstar search revealed the closest one to be downtown LA and it was already sold. To put in context, I have 8 or so dealers between me and downtown LA and none of them had one on the lot.

Speaks much about how the car business has changed for the worst. With all the computers and robots, it take forever to get a new car the way you like it these days. That is pure NUTS and something had better change.

Who thinks NJ is on his way to Denver right now??? I think he should do as many neutral drops in his S class until he returns it --- just so as to get even with MB for F''''ing with him for last year... Why should only he suffer.. It's time for MB to pay for their wrong-doings...

Stand by folks...the big event is getting closer. Not one, but two GL550's to be delivered side by side. One is Verde Brook on Macadamia and the other is Obsidian Black on Black. Both survivors of a railroad breakdown but prepped and detailed to perfection.
I know you will be upset but this is the last post about this big event until pictures are posted to document the occasion.

I agree with NJ. The way we get cars now is nuts!
It's like a really poor example of the Dell Computer model for buying a desktop, no pre-made anything, just order it the way you want to. The problem is with computers you can get in 5 days, with cars it takes 5 months!
Why even have the dealer involved, they're basically just placing an internet order to MB, let the customer just do it directly and have the truck delivered directly to your house!
But we as consumers are at fault also, because we want to pick and choose from a wide variety of options. The dealer can't stock every combination of options. Packages of options only help to a small degree.
In some respects the GL550 is a good idea, put almost every option in a truck and sell it as is, if your want it fine, pay for it, if your don't want it that way too bad.
I don't have the answers. All I know is I have a GL450 that I waited 3 months for and they build it with the wrong options and now I am waiting 3 months for a GL320. Hopefully they will get this one right.
The process is nuts.
