Invoice I believe is around 76K for a fully loaded one so I would say NY_SG's guy is probably looking for 77K approx.

you're asking what MSRP is... there are 2 down here sitting on a lot with stickers of $82-83k.... so add $1k to that, and you're at $83-$84k..
I can take pictures of the sticker and post it up, I was thinking this was easier.. lol
I can't believe guys are buying these and don't know what they cost.. lol..

NY_SG is in the mecca of Mercedes dealers (also known as southern California). As far as pricing goes, there is not a better place to buy one.Originally Posted by Waiting-4-550

Base is $78k... I click all the options (NOT the add-on accessories) and it ran up $86,500... so MSRP is $78-$87k..... case solved.

Again, that's MSRP (Manufacturers Suggested Retail Price), not invoice. For invoice, go to edmonds.com (among others) as noted by oknish in previous post.Originally Posted by HoustonRider

oh, yep.... thats true...
I've always heard markup is 6 - 6.5 %.... is that BS?
I know a dealer would normally meet ya half way (3%)... thats the best I've be offered. Is there more to be had?

If you've found a dealer to do $1000 over invoice already, you better ****** it up right now...we might meet half way, but you'll be lucky to find a dealer to do that right now...they're just not readily available.

I agree most dealers don't even have any 550's in stock and those that do are selling at or above MSRPOriginally Posted by Blk04cobra1

6.4% is almost exactly right on the base price, according to edmonds.com. The percentage will vary slightly on the options. Also, don't forget that dealers get rebates from MB for flooring, quanity discounts, inventory interest, etc. What it all boils down to is that the invoice cost is NOT what the car ultimately costs the dealer.Originally Posted by HoustonRider

No dealer pays for the car in full at delivery. They just pay the "juice" till the car is sold. You can find a lot of money in a Benz's trunk sometimes.
No bull. I dont want the car I have bought cars from him for few years he said thats the price.
78k - 79k I believe fully loaded. So yeah if anyone interested let me know thanks.

I bought mine for exactly $1,000 over invoice, not MSRP. I was also offered 3.2% above invoice (split MSRP and invoice) from another dealer. Obviously $1k over invoice was the better deal.Originally Posted by Waiting-4-550

$1K over invoice is indeeed a good deal. I found the same deal, but when we said we wanted two and asked if they could do better, the dealer dropped it to $500 over invoice (each).Originally Posted by S550 & GL550

I have a place in Tahoe and the dealership in Reno was actually the one that said that the best they could do was 3.2% (split MSRP & Invoice). Great job of negotiation! I would have bought from Reno if they couldv'e done' $500 over invoice for me. I now have to drive to Vegas for the GL550 rally in late October to get mine registered in NV. Actually my family and are are looking forward to it!Originally Posted by WordSmith

I don't know the final price exactly although it was told to me when I ordered the car. I ordered mine with trailer hitch, keyless go, and iPod. I believe it is around $75k. It should be here in less than a month!Originally Posted by dsunnym1
