There's two things I particularly like about my truck;
First of all, it is clearly a vehicle that attracts the attention of women. I haven't done that myself in 22 years, so that's a plus for me.
Second, being diesel means it's very unlikely that a woman would drive my car because she'd not want to sully her fresh manicure or get any dirty diesel fuel on her fingers. (Exception being my own wife, who's got no problems getting her hands dirty and can't remember her last manicure - her next might be on October 27th!)
The heck with it, man, I love my truck and feel no reduction in masculinity driving it.

'08 GL320 CDI, 2001 996 C4S
We have an 08 GL320 CDI which my wife says is hers. I have a 996 C4 which I drive to work but when I am with my family for sure I would drive our GL,very comfortable and truth I like to drive it more than my Porsche. Now about more women driving GL's my wife does not drive but still claims the GL. I am the only one who drives but says she drives me anyway, does that count?

You make your car what you want, give personal touches, personality.
After I'm done, nobody can think I'm a traditional female driver, maybe a "tomboy". My wife drives the ML500, and they are surprise to see her driving the vehicle, doesn't fit her profile. It's not very feminine.

But do you notice they are all moms : ) Just kidding. As much as I love our GL450, I do feel it's a mom-mobile. That's why I was pushing for the Range Rover. I also see mostly mothers driving GL's in my hood. It doesn't help that we still use a Little Mermaid beach towel as rear seat floormats and usually have two bikes or a stroller in the back. The GL550 does a good job of making it more manly. My wife would have killed me if we paid for the premium on the GL550 to get the wheels, meaner looks, and extra power on top of an already well powered truck. Most moms would not see the value of the GL550. Men will.

'08 GL 320
Hi All,
Being a mom and future driver of an '08 GL 320 I thought this would be the place for my question, although it is off topic a bit. I currently drive an '04 toyota Sienna and I want to know if the power of the 320 will at least be comparable. I live in South FLA and drive the kids around - a lot. Sometimes I wish I had more power, but when I drive my husband's R500 it shoots me out too fast (hence a very exspensive ticket while driving his car.) I also like the idea of being a bit "greener" with the diesel engine. After waiting THREE months I'd hate to test drive it (there are never any in stock) and then switch to the 450. Anyway, can anyone comment?

GL 4 Her, Welcome to the discussion. There was a tread started on this Forum titled "GL 320CDI Driving Experience", there might also be some opinions for you in that thread regarding the driving experience of the 320 Diesel. Hope this helps.
