08 S-550 & 08 GL-550
Would you beleive!!!
I just discovered that someone keyed the passenger door on my new 550!!!!!!
A good 12-14 inch scratch smack in the middle of the door!
I just cant believe this ......Not even a month old!!
First car out of a extreme amount of owning, that ever got keyed!!
This really sucks,, Now I will have to have the passenger door painted A.S.A.P
Cause I cant stand even looking at it!!
Sorry guy's ,,Just needed to vent...
I will keep yous posted with the repair and such....

Sometimes people are so #@$!ing ignorant. I had a 1958 Cadillac 9 passenger sedan (not the limo, no divider window) that I had restored to near-perfect condition in white and was going to use for my limo business in Aspen. At a Christmas party here in Scottsdale, SOMEbody (and I don't know if it was a guest or one of the caterer's employees) put a great huge scratch in it from the back of the driver's door all the way to the front of the hood (about 1500 feet - well, it looked like it). What damn good did that do? Just pissed me off. And now, I'm pissed off for you.

I feel your pain, dsunnym1. I remember my first nice German car was a 1991 BMW 535i in Calypso Red. It was my pride and joy. We took it on a road trip to Palm Springs in 1995, and the side of it just got trashed, from stem to stern, by a key job.
I have a bit of anxiety about the GL550 attracting too much of the wrong kind of attention. For instance, one thing I did not realize about the wheels: sure, they look good enough when the GL is on a Mercedes lot, but when you see them in a parking lot full of ordinary cars, it's like BAMMO!!! Can't take your eyes off. I'm a little surprised that my wife hasn't commented on it; she's a lot more reserved than I am when it comes to cars.

For instance, one thing I did not realize about the wheels: sure, they look good enough when the GL is on a Mercedes lot, but when you see them in a parking lot full of ordinary cars, it's like BAMMO!!! I had a tire slashed on my SLK320 in a parking lot a couple of years ago. Other MBs, BMWs and a Lincoln suffered the same fate in the same lot. It's senseless.
Some people are envious and they take it out on those of us who sacrificed and worked hard all our lives and are now enjoying the fruit of our labor. Those people will never know success. And I sincerely feel that the world has a way of getting even them. Sometime, somewhere, somehow...they will get what's coming to them.

Well, first let's try to reason this. Did you **** anybody off before this happened?(steal their parking spot,etc...). If not, then is just some jealous a**hole that did it. I will never understand that.I used to park my 04 Range Rover (the car I gave up to get my 550) in front of my business and a few times people would spit at the car for absolutely no reason. Animals! I guess people just assume some rich ***** owns this car.Some of us have to work very hard for what we have.I'll never forget once i went to a store that had a sign " Don't be jealous of me if you don't know the sacrifices I have to make".

I try my hardest to treat people the way that I would like to be treated.
With that being said,, No I did not **** anybody off........
And if anything I have been parking my 550 far away from everybody when at a parking lot not to get any door dings..I am extremely **** with my cars.
